Softcover<\/p>\n<p>The book gets its name from the chemises (the cardboard folders or jackets) that the Malian photographer Malick Sidib\u00e9 used in his Bamako studio during the 1960s and 1970s. Sidib\u00e9 glued contact prints directly onto these folders, which documented the vibrant nightlife, parties, and youth culture of Bamako.
